Filed under: cars —Tagged — @ 2:59 pm

Women, park your pride at the doorway. Turns out men truly are better than female drivers at steering their cars into a spot, if one is to believe a contemporary investigation coming from Germany.

A mixture of kinds of parking were taken into consideration during this slightly uncommon exercise that involved people aiming to park their respective vehicles in the most excellent possible way in the allocated space.

Women drivers not only didn't perform as satisfactory a job but also required close to fifteen secs more to park their cars.

Assist Me in Purchasing A Car

Filed under: trucks —Tagged — @ 10:00 am

I now need to get rid of my 1999 Honda Accord (pegged at around $5thousand) because the current one is, at the moment, too undersized (3 adults, 2 children and another expected soon).

I should express that I have been pleased with the vehicle, I'm not a speed freak and the car manages to do 115 kph but that's ok; I am, really, simply selling since its dimension is very small for family way of living.

Can you recommend any options estimated at around the same that are:
a) larger
b) comparable low emission
c) trustworthy on quick trips (seeing that that's what we predominantly do)
d) proficient on mileage

Finally, a new Car by Sam Howzit

I would really be looking ahead to buying my different car, however it must not be extremely high-priced, nonetheless be a vehicle that I could rely on, and also one that is stress-free to take care of.

In essence, if the vehicle that I mention has served you effectively although you specifically need to change it with something that is somewhat larger, then what would you pick? I like the exterior of the Land Rover. But I think it would be difficult to stumble on one within that price range. All wheel drives would be useful for our home since we have our home in the Appalachian Mountains and we do have several off road tracks are present, however it's not mandatory for the car to be an SUV.

While I wait I guess I'll just keep zipping around in a rental motorcar

Every single one of your recommendations would be extremely appreciated.

A Different SUV for my Dad

Filed under: trucks —Tagged — @ 4:28 am

My old man just returned his Ford Explorer and is on the lookout to lease something else. He previously made clear that the previous SUV was not very kind on his spine and also that the power was more than he wanted… So he's on the lookout for a 4 cylinder or a diminutive 6, and it has to be Offroader in view of the fact that he enjoys surfing, etc… plus this is the only big vehicle in the house, I borrowed his vehicle numerous times to transport stuff around as I own a Honda Accord and my wife a Beetle.

Anyway, the cost; it's definitely below US $30k including taxes plus fees.

He liked the GMC Acadia, but it does not have adequate bite, the Turbo variant has excellent engine capacity and drives well, but for the price he thinks he could get something else.

He got a magnificent deal at turbocharged 4-cylinder engine 200-hp 2.0-liter Volkswagen Passat … but he has a reliability concern ever since our Audi Q7 and VW Beetle were regulalrly facing problems. I recommended that with a 36-month lease he shouldn't have any problems (in contrast to driving the Audi like he did for around 4 years).

We also though about the contemporary Kia Sorento, a pretty darn enjoyable vehicle, one could smell quality all over when you look inside… My father also said that he would have bought the SUV already if not for the overly obnoxious salesman… I think inculing taxes it gets to $32k or so, but he does seem to be fond of the car very much.

I don't think he likes the VolvoXC60, I'll ask him if he wants to test it out, its cost seems about right.

If you know of any reliable drives that he could explore without having to spend an excessive sum of money, your propositions are very welcome.
